At 30 years old, dsillusioned with love, life and work, I decided to take a leap of faith and embark on an exciting journey to seek out new adventures. I left the rainy UK behind and landed in the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand which quickly became my happy place, a sanctuary where I felt at peace. With a strong desire to grow and learn, I jumped into a master's program in Creative Therapies. This experience ignited a passion in me to use my creativity in a different way, and led to the creation of Art Adventure - a special place where individuals with disabilities could explore their artistic talents. It became a haven for many. After relocating to a laid-back coastal town called Mangawhai, I opened up the Be Creative studio, a happy,, safe and supportive creative space where aspiring artists could gather and let their creativity flow. For the past 12 years, I've been at the helm of this creativity ship, offering classes, workshops, and fun programs to build a close-knit community of young art enthusiasts.
My experiences and knowledge gained by facilitating hundreds of creative projects with a wide and diverse section of communities, has led to a strong belief in the profound impact of creative expression on wellbeing and have now embarked on a new journey to explore the intersection of Art, Culture, Health & Wellbeing in the UK and will be documenting and sharing this new Art Adventure along the way.
